*= Returning State Qualifier

Amsterdam Rams

2017 Sectional Place: incomplete-Class B (Class A this year)

Top Returnees: Trevor Dzikowicz-So., Daniel Bublak-Jr., Robert Martinez-Sr., Syed Husain-Fr., Joseph Santiago-Fr., Justin Santiago-Fr., Matthew Stachnik-Fr.

Key Losses: none

Team Outlook: Lost three out of five from last year so they will be depending on a bunch of freshmen to step in. Dzikowicz returns as the top runner and was in the mid 17 minute range. Bublak is their only other returning runner and was in the mid 19's last year. Will have afull team this year after running incomplete last year but with a bunch of new freshmen it will be tough to predict on how they'll do.

Broadalbin-Perth Patriots

2017 Sectional Place: 7th place-Class C

Top Returnees: Micah Smith-Jr., Devin Becker-Sr., Wyatt Couperas-Sr., Daniel Dylong-So., Damian Brockhum-So., Patrick Nelis-Jr., Antonio Zevola-Jr.

Key Losses: Evan Smith

Team Outlook: Return their top five from last year. Smith should be their top runner and was in the mid 17 minute range last year. Becker, Couperus, and Dylong were all in the mid 18's last year. Will want to see their 5th runner a little bit closer to their top four but they should still have some very good depth.

Glens Falls Indians

2017 Sectional Place: 16th place-Class C (Class B this year)

Top Returnees: Paul Trackey-Jr., Devin Powell-So., John Andre-Sr., Caleb Tamez-So., Aiden Collins-Jr., Zach Wadleigh-Sr.

Key Losses: Chris Hughes

Team Outlook: Only lose one from last year, but that one was State Champions Chris Hughes. Trackey should be their new number one and was in the low 18's last year with Powell their number two in the high 18's. Andre and Tamez come in next and were in the mid 20 minute range last year and they will need to close the gap closer to their top two if they want to move up in the leauge.

Gloversville Huskies

2017 Sectional Place: incomplete-Class B

Top Returnees: Skyler Reed-Sr., Riley Lake-Sr., Zachary Rocas-Sr., Devon Pickney-Sr.

Key Losses: none

Team Outlook: Only had four runners last year but should return them all this year. Reed returns as their top runner and was in the mid 17 minute range last year. Lake is their number two runner and was in the mid 18's with Pickney about a minute behind. Team will need to see their third through fifth move up in the league.

Hudson Falls Tigers

2017 Sectional Place: 10th place-Class B

Top Returnees: Ayden Saville-Sr., Markey Austin-Jr., Peyton Daley-Jr., Sal Chaidez-Jr., Bob Ciepley-Jr.

Key Losses: none

Team Outlook: Return their top five from last year with Saville coming back as their number one and was just over 18 minutes last year with Markey just under 19 minutes. Their 4th and 5th runners were both over 23 minutes and will need to close the gap to their top three.

Johnstown Sirbills

2017 Sectional Place: 9th place-Class C

Top Returnees: Mark Cwiakala-Sr., August D'Amore-Sr., Nathaniel Cotton-Jr., Nolan Hayes-Sr., Alfio DeMarco-Sr., Codt Draper-Jr., Kyle Wood-So.

Key Losses: Gabe Cole, Michael Simone, Zach Ropeter, Dominic DiScioscia, Christian Germany

Team Outlook: Lost three out of their top five from last year. Cwiakala is their top runner and was in the high 18 minute range last year. D'Amore and Cotton are their 2nd and 3rd and are a minute behind. Fourth and fifth are over 20 minutes and will want to drop the 2 minute gap between their 1st and 5th. Looks like they have a new top runner so that will be a good start.

Queensbury Spartans

2017 Sectional Place: 2nd place-Class B (Class A this year)

Top Returnees: Nick Logan-Jr., Nick Sponzo-Sr., Ethan Stark-Sr., Drew Fedele-Jr., Daniel Neilson-Sr., Tyler Harrington-Fr., Ryan Lapann-Jr.

Key Losses: Kevin Bouyea, Brian Beyerbach, Cody Metcalfe, Stephen Kowalczyk

Team Outlook: Hit hard by graduation losing four out of their top six. Logan should be their top runner. He was in the mid 16's last year and has the top returning time in the league. Sponzo should be their number two and was in the mid 17's and Start their number three and was just over 18 minutes. their fifth is over 19 minutes and will need their fifth to move closer to their fourth if they want to challenge Scotia-Glenville for the league title.

Schuylerville Black Horses

2017 Sectional Place: 2nd place-Class C

Top Returnees: Ethan Burch-Sr., Max Dwyer-Sr., Jonah Stewart-So., Owen Greene-Sr., Cody Belden-So., Lars Conway-Sr., Stephen Rowinski-So.

Key Losses: Xavier Jones, Aidan Garry, Kadon Lane

Team Outlook: Return their top three from last year but lose most of their back end.  Burch returns as their top runner and was a state qualifier last year running just over 17 minutes. Dwyer is their number two and was in the mid 17's with Stewart, just over 18 minutes as their third. Have a shot to compete for the team title but need their 4th and 5th runners to dip under 19 minutes if they want to challenge Scotia-Glenville.

Scotia-Glenville Tartans

2017 Sectional Place: 3rd place-Class B

Top Returnees: Gabe Winters-Bona-Sr., Kyle Ostrander-Jr., Alex Tebano-So., Noah Greski-So., Ryan Bruce-Sr., Nick Swain-Sr., Sam Whitehead-Sr.

Key Losses: Nathan Tabbert, Jacob Leaper

Team Outlook: Lost their number one from last year but have great depth coming back. Winters-Bona and Ostrander should be their top two runners both were just over 17 minutes last year. Tebano, Greski, and Bruce were all in the mid 17's last year and give them an impressive 25 second gap between their 1st and 5th. Should be the favorites for the league title based on the fact that they are the only team with five runners under 18 minutes but will still want to look more depth and fight off Queensbury and Schuylerville.

South Glens Falls Bulldogs

2017 Sectional Place: 6th place-Class B

Top Returnees: Nate Nagle-Sr., Cowen Leininger-So., Jacob Rafferty-Sr., Nick Prevost-So., Aidan Taylor-So., Trevor Sinton-So., Bryce Law-Jr.

Key Losses: Frank Triolo, Eric Hodgson, Ethan Rittereiser 1-4-6

Team Outlook: Lose their top runner and three out of their top six from last year. Nagle and Leininger are their top two this year and were in the the mid to high 16 minute range which gives them the best 1-2 punch in the league. Rafferty should be their 3rd runner and was in the mid 18's. The team's 4th and 5th were both at least a minute behind Rafferty and if the team wants to move up in the league they will need to close the gap to their 3rd runner.

Top Returnees: Kathryn Romano-Jr., Julia Preston-Sr., Brooke Grace-Sr., Alexis Houser-Sr.

Key Losses: Julia Sarullo

Team Outlook: Return four from last year. Romano and Preston have the top two returning times from last year as both were in the high 21 minute range last year. Grace comes in as their third and was more than two minutes behind their top two. Need to fill the team up and need to have their 4th and 5th close the gap.
