*=Returning State Qualifier

Berlin/New Lebanon Mountaineers

2021 Sectional Place: 7th Place-Class D

Projected Varsity: Gabe Kalisz-Jr., Aidan VanDyk-Jr., Nathanael Hendricks-So., Daniel Hendricks-Sr., Raymond Ericson-Sr., Lance Schroder-Fr.

Key Losses: Matthew Kluck, Layne Chaykowski, Carlton Truax, Nicholas Mosher

Team Outlook: Lost a bunch to graduation and runners not coming back out. Junior Gabe Kalisz returns as their number one runner. He was in the mid 17 minute range last year and is a league preseason top 5 runner. Rest of the returning team were all over 20 minutes so they will need some of the new runners to step in and help with the rest of the returning team needing to improve to move up in the league.

Greenwich Witches

2021 Sectional Place: incomplete-Class C

Projected Varsity: Cameron Meaker, Bradley Spiezio

Key Losses: Jacob Ziehm, Matt Bink, Colin Murray

Team Outlook: No one returns from last year's team and only have two new runners on the team this year so team will need to focus on getting the numbers up to compete in the league.

Hoosic Valley Indians

2021 Sectional Place: 4th Place-Class D

Projected Varsity: Ethan Sheldon-Jr., Alex Ruepp-Fr.

Key Losses: Jake Kinnicut, Logan Maleady, Caden Jarvis, Jack Hallam, Dylan Svec

Team Outlook: Team was crushed by graduation as they lose five out of their seven runners last year. Junior Ethan Sheldon returns with the top returning time in the league and was just under 17 minutes last year. Coach Forbes says that they will be incomplete this year so they will need to focus on getting the numbers back up to compete in the league.

Mechanicville Red Raiders

2021 Sectional Place: 15th place-Class C

Projected Varsity: Sawyer Pane-Jr.,Eli Fane-Jr., Pat Wright-Sr., Pat Daniels-Jr., Andrew Christie-Fr., Maddox Partyka-Fr., Nick Barnes-Jr., Breaden Colwell-So., Jacob Fitchner-Fr., Ricky Favour-Jr.

Key Losses: Hadyn Archambeault

Team Outlook: Lose their third runner from last year but returns just about everyone else. Junior Sawyer Payne returns as their number one runner and was in the low 18 minute range last year. Big gap after Pane as senior Pat Wright is the second returning runner and was just under 21 minutes last year with the rest of the returning runners all over 22 minutes last year. Team will need to get a boost from some new additions and a few freshmen to step into their top five. Can definitely move up if the new runners can fill in quickly.

Saratoga Catholic

2021 Sectional Place:incomplete-Class D

Projected Varsity: Raphael Sanok-So.

Key Losses: Thomas Sherwin, Adam Munn

Team Outlook: Only had three runners last year and return one and he was over 30 minutes last year. Team will need to focus on numbers before worrying about league standings.

Stillwater Warriors

2021 Sectional Place: 6th Place-Class C

Projected Varsity: Anthony Zazzaro-So., Dan Patrick-Sr., Frank Perniciaro-Sr., Nevan Doubleday-Sr., Garrett Mehan-So., Adam Conkline-Sr., Gabe Willians-Sr.

Key Losses: Will Lutz

Team Outlook: Defending league champions only lose their third runner from last year. Sophomore Anthony Zazzaro is the defending keague champion and was just under 17 minutes last year. Senior Dan Patrick is their number two and was in the mid 17 minute range last year, he is also a league preseason top 5 runner. Seniors Frank Perniciaro and Nevan Doubleday should be their third and fourth runners and both were in the 19 minute range last year. Big gap after the first four and they will need to find a number five runner badly. Had a very good modified runner last year and could be a big help to their top five, but should still have enough front end power to defend their league title.

Tamarac/Hoosick Falls Bengals

2021 Sectional Place: incomplete-Class C

Projected Varsity: John Clinton-Jr., Christopher Perry-So., Oliver Lange-Jr.

Key Losses: none

Team Outlook: Only had three runners last year but should return all of them which will give them a chance to have a complete team this year. Junior John Clinto returns as their number one runner. He was in the low 17 minute range last year and is a league preseason top 5 runner. Sophomore Christopher Perry and junior Oliver Lange are their other returnees and were both in the mid 20 to 21 minute range last year. Question is if they can fill out their roster. They're only a couple of runners away but no so easily done for a Class C or Class D school.

Waldorf School

Projected Varsity:

Key Losses:

Team Outlook: Didn't have any runners last year so will need to focus on numbers.

*=Returning State Qualifier

BerlinNew Lebanon Mountaineers

2021 Sectional Place: 1st Place-Class D, 6th place New York State

Projected Varsity: Allura Meizinger-Jr., Elsie Corbett-Sr., Sadie Giumarra-Sr.,  Samantha Rokjer-Sr., Elanie Savaria-Jr., Vivian Whelan-Jr.

Key Losses: Brady Hills, Ava Noel, Addison Powell

Team Outlook: Defending league champions lose a few from last year but return six runners from last year and should be favorites to repeat.Junior Allura Meizinger returns as theur number one runner. She was in rhe mid 19 minute range and is a league preseason top 3 runner. Elisie Corbett should be their number two runner and was in the mid 20 minute range last year. Senior Sadie Giumurra and Ava Noel look to be in the low to mid 21 minute range last year. After their top four the rest of the team is over 24 minutes so they will need to find someone to close the gap to their top four runners and give them the depth they need. Still with four runners in the league's top 10, they should repeat.

Emma Willard Jesters

2021 Sectional Place: did not run-Class B

Projected Varsity: Dia Krylova-Jr., Anita Ma-Sr., Daphanie Kemigisa-Sr., Tracy Cao-Sr., Nikki Lecoz-So., Iren Guo-Sr.

Key Losses: Annie Guthrie, Beckett Matsil, Amber Chu, Ruby Kaur

Team Outlook: Lost four of their top six from last year but team is always a mystery every year because the roster always fluxuates with new runners. Tried to get an idea about what the team looks like but their coach told me that the school said that they do not release student's names to the media. So that's a new one. I guess we'll never know because by that definition coach's won't be allowed to send out results of their meets, or any other sport for that matter.

Greenwich Witches

2021 Sectional Place: 5th place-Class C

Projected Varsity: Teagan Wright-Sr., Caroline Kelly-Jr., Carmia Woods

Key Losses: Nina Sgambelluri, Emily Skiff, Nadia Chincola, Caitlyn McClay

Team Outlook: Crushed by graduation and do not return a complete team. Senior Teagan Wright will lead as she was in the low 20 minute range last year and returns as one of the top runners in the league. Junior Caroline Kelly should be their second runner and was in the mid 22 minute range last year. New coach Glenn Wolin will have a lot of work on his hands to bring the team up to full strength. Probably not this year but hopefully next year.

Hoosic Valley Indians

2021 Sectional Place: 2nd Place-Class D

Projected Varsity: Sophia Squires-Jr., Andrea Sassatelli-8th

Key Losses: Amanda Salisbury, Evan Robert, Arianna Jarvis Lily Czub

Team Outlook: Lost a ton from last year and will probably be incomplete this year. Junior Sophia Squires returns as their number one runner. She was in the mid 19 minute range and is the defending league champion. 8th grader Andrea Sassatelli moves up from modified last year and should have a solid first year. Team will need to focus on filling up the squad to compliment their solid 1-2 punch.

Mechanicville Red Raiders

2021 Sectional Place: 13th place-Class C

Projected Varsity: Paige Rogers-8th, Giana Gaba-Jr., Jorja DeCarlo-Jr., Addison Pane-Fr., Jimena Cruz-So., Mia Duncan-Jr., Mekennah MacNary-Jr.

Key Losses: Brooke Cepci, Kayla Walker

Team Outlook: Return their top five from last year. 8th grader Paige Rogers jumps into the top position and was just over 22 minutes last year. Freshman Addison Pane and junior Jorja DeCarlo bring in the next top times and they were in the high 24 to mid 25 minute range last year. Team will need help from some new runners on the team to help their depth and they will need to cut the gap between their top runner and the rest of the team if they want to move up in the league.

Saratoga Catholic

2021 Sectional Place: incomplete-Class D

Projected Varsity: Vanessa Warren-Jr., Kerry Gill-So., Ryan McDonald-Jr.

Key Losses: Katie Cronin, Maddie Ragle 1,4

Team Outlook: Ran incomplete at Sectionals last year and return three runners from last year. Junior Vanessa Warren jumps into the top spot this year and was just over 22 minutes last year. Rest of the returning runners were both over 24 minutes so they team will need to focus on filling up their lineup and closing the gap to their top runner to improve in the league.

Stillwater Warriors

2021 Sectional Place: incomplete-Class C

Projected Varsity: Sarah Hanssen-Jr., Jacey Locci-Jr.

Key Losses: Rebecca May

Team Outlook: Ran incomplete last year and return two. Juniors Sarah Hansen and Jacey Locci are their returning runners. Hansen was just under 20 minutes last year and Locci was right at 21 minutes last year so they have a solid 1-2 punch returning. They will now have to focus on filling up the squard to compete in the league.

Tamarac/Hoosick Falls Bengals

2021 Sectional Place:10th place-Class C

Projected Varsity: Sarah Raymond-So., Shia Lang-So., Aniya-Jade Bailey-So., Shalee Bull-Jr,

Key Losses: Kara Cushman, Berta Margenats 2

Team Outlook: Lost two out of their six runners from last year so they should be returning four. Sophomore Sarah Raymond returns as their number one runner and was in the high 21 minute range. Sophomores Shia Lang and Aniya-Jade Bailey should be their second and third runners and were in the mid to high 24 minute range. Team will need to focus on improving their depth and cutting the gap to their number one runner to move up in the league.

Waldorf School

Projected Varsity: none

Key Losses: Flora Whitney, Julianna Gonzales 1

Team Outlook: Only had two runners last year and graduated both of them, so they will need to focus on bringing in some new blood to keep the program going.
